Peggy Bundy Had A Baby
Actress Katey Sagal welcomed a little girl named Esme a little over a year ago by surrogate mother with her husband Kurt Sutter. “Esme was a little gift that came to us, it’s just been an amazing experience that I was not prepared for - but now feels completely normal to me.”
The 54 year old actress (who was 53 at the time) said “I was too old to carry a baby if you want the truth,” she says with a laugh. “We were exploring adoption or surrogacy, and we kind of left it up to whatever happened quicker - and the surrogacy process was a lot easier than we thought.”
Katey has two biological children, but because of prior complications she’s not able to give birth again. But Katie says she’s proud to be an older mother, “My thing about having another child was, time’s-a-wasting! I thought about being an older parent and what that means for another child, but I was somewhat of an older parent when I had Sarah and Jackson [in my] late 30s. I have an enormous family with many cousins, and Esmé has an older brother and sister. So, I felt it was okay to do this.”
